At CBD American Shaman Rosenberg Texas, our experts work with CBD oil every day. One of our goals is to educate more and more people about its benefits.

CBD IS the second most prevalent of the active ingredients of cannabis. While CBD is an essential component of medical marijuana, it is derived directly from the hemp plant. While CBD is a component of marijuana (one of hundreds), by itself it does not cause a “high.” According to a report from the World Health Organization, “In humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential…. To date, there is no evidence of public health related problems associated with the use of pure CBD.”

CBD is commonly used to address anxiety, and for patients who suffer through the misery of insomnia, studies suggest that CBD may help with both falling asleep and staying asleep. CBD may offer an option for treating different types of chronic pain. A study from the European Journal of Pain showed, using an animal model, CBD applied on the skin could help lower pain and inflammation due to arthritis. Another study demonstrated the mechanism by which CBD inhibits inflammatory and neuropathic pain, two of the most difficult types of chronic pain to treat.

CBD binds to receptors in the central nervous system including endocannabinoid receptors which help modulate the levels of monoamines, perceptions of pleasure and pain, and mood. It is a single cannabinoid, the second most abundant in marijuana and the most abundant in low THC hemp.

CBD is available in several different forms. This allows people to tailor their method of use to their specific need. Here are the most common forms of CBD:

Food or Liquids. CBD oil is put in foods or liquids and ingested orally. The CBD is then absorbed into the body through the stomach and small intestine. The effect takes longer due to the time it takes to digest the food or liquid. Faster absorption can occur with CBD American Shaman water soluble products due to our proprietary nanotechnology typically in 6-8 minutes.

Inhalation. CBD oil is turned into vapor and inhaled using a vaporizer product and absorbed through the lungs. This is the fastest delivery system, but a person must inhale many times to get a full serving. This method is ideal for impromptu moments when a fast-acting remedy is needed.

Topicals. CBD oil is put into lotions and creams for topical applications. Creams can provide pain relief to specific areas of the body such as skin, muscles and joints. Lotions can help revitalize and moisture skin both on the body and on the face.

Tinctures. Tinctures are CBD oils that are absorbed by the blood vessels under the tongue. Most people who have been using CBD prior its recent bloom in popularity use this method. The VG Cloud Tincture can be used in food or liquids, as a vape, or as a tincture.
